My Accent Vlog...phew, finally!!

Caitlin over at Healthy Tipping Point  recently posted an accent vlog which gave all her readers a chance to hear her and her "accent". I thought this idea was really neat mostly because it gives readers a chance to hear a blogger's actual voice as opposed to the 'voice' we might have when we write.

So here's me taking part in this fun little game:

The word list is:  Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

The questions are:

•What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?

•What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?

•What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?

•What do you call gym shoes?

•What do you say to address a group of people?

•What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?

•What do you call your grandparents?

•What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?

•What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?

•What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

My accent background:

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada. My parents and grandparents are from Ontario, Canada as well.

Won't you play along?? (Leave me your link if you do...I definitely want to check it out!)

In other news:

I will be participating in a Vegan for a Week Challenge starting next Monday, courtesy of Morgan over at Life After Bagels. (Check out the full challenge on her page)

May I remind you that I am not a vegetarian and although I do eat a lot of meat free meals I have never consciously eaten a vegan diet. That said, I am really excited for a chance to try something new so tune in Sunday when I fill you in with my meal plans and recipe ideas.

Happy Wednesday!

So tell me, is my "accent" all you expected it to be? Would you care to join us in the Vegan Challenge? If not for a whole week, then maybe just Monday? It'll be so much fun!

  1. Yes!! You pointed out the supermarket thing too!! And I haven't heard the term "converter" in a loooong time. I think that's what my Grampie still calls it :P

Mine will be up in a couple hours. Even though ours are quite similar, there's still some differences between the Ontario and Maritime accent :)

  7. They should have asked you to say 'about'. And you should have ended it with, "Eh?"
