I Got Babies on the Brain

I should warn you, this post isn't about running, fitness or nutrition. Oh no, no, no. Instead it's about a yearning and desire so strong I can barely contain it sometimes. I spend countless hours on the Internet trying to satisfy my urges. I think about it constantly. I can barely admit it to family and friends who would think I was crazy if they knew just how bad its gotten. It's almost out of control if I'm being perfectly honest....

Alright, I'll just put it out there, for all the world to see and judge:

I WANT A PUPPY!

I know, I know its crazy! I already have a dog but he's all grown up now and spends more time with his furry friends at The Boyfriend's house then with me. He doesn't need me anymore. And I miss being needed.

I love puppies. They are messy and time consuming and tear-your-hair-out frustrating but their sweet and innocent energy combined with their willingness to be taught and molded just melts my heart. And who doesn't just adore the softness of a puppy's fur or the distinct aroma of puppy breath?

I know puppies don't stay puppies forever but I want another chance to take a sweet little 8 week old ball of fur and make her into a beautiful, friendly, well rounded canine companion.

Hell if they come in pairs I'll bite the bullet and take two. Double the fun and double the love right?? (Probably not, but how cute are these little guys??)

While I'm probably a year out from getting another pooch it's always nice to daydream. (I blame the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show) And if you don't mind, don't mention any of this to Barkley. He's a teenager and thus prone to overreaction and might think he's being replaced.
