Meet my newest running buddy...

On a rainy day where both the dog needs a walk and you need a run sometimes you have to get creative...

I should mention, Barkley's not the "best" on a leash. Let's just say that Cesare Milan would have a field day with him. He's a sweet heart in every single way but the boy thinks he's a sled dog!

Nonethless 4k later, the pooch and I were damp and exhausted. Something about running with the dog (and making sure he didn't trip me about a zillion times) sure takes it outta ya!

I think Barkley agrees.

So tell me, who's your favorite workout buddy and why?

  1. Barkley is an adorable name and an adorable pup! I couldn't think of a better running partner than him - even if he's a little running happy :)

  4. I LOVE running with my moms golden lab! Dogs need to build up and "train" too though. Keep running with him and he'll get better on the leash! I couldn't believe the improvement in my moms lab when I spent three weeks running with him one spring when I was home!

  6. I love it! My dog would drag me down the street. My favorite workout buddy is the husband. It's hard for me to get him out there, but he makes things go by fast.

  7. Barkley is so stinkin' cute! And I love his name. My fav running buddy is my pup, Koda. But she's mad at me right now because I had to run in the gym today... SO cold!

  8. So cute!! I really want my pup to run with me, but he's not the best on a leash either. He zig zags back and forth all over the road, and I'm terrified I'm going to trip. Plus, he thinks he's a greyhound or some other champion racer. As soon as we start running, he's off like a rocket! We've gotta work on that. ;)

  9. I have a Springer Spaniel that I love walking (or running) with. Like your dog, mine has a major problem with the leash. But usually, by the end of the run, she's too tired to pull too much.
